Hi there... I love to make stitchery... and Im always wondering ...hmmm two or three...it depends on how much you want it to show or how little the stitchery is... and of course how thick the line is that you are going to stitch over... Not much advise here...:o) but go for what you like best!! :o)
And oh...forgot ...use some stabilizor on the back or batting...it gives a nice quilted effect on the work...hmmm...and a hoop...:o)
Hi Amy,I embroidered a pair of pillow cases for my friend Lucie for Xmas. We both love redwork so I embroidered the vintage rose design in red. I bought the iron-on patterns at Joann's and read that they can be used more than once. I used two strands of thread because the design was busy and I didn't want it to look too heavy. I elected to leave out some of the shading lines and they washed out beautifully. The pillow cases had about an inch of crocheted lace at the edge and they looked so nice after they were washed and ironed. I almost kept them for myself! Hey there, I am using one strand of DMC embroidery thread on my Red Delicious BOM. If you look on my DEC 29 entry you can see how one strand looks. Have fun.
