I am in the mood for cross stitch lately. This was started last year and put aside till now.Its done on linen with 1 strand of floss over one thread. It takes a while to do, but its enjoyable.Its a set of needlework accessories.

I am also still hand quilting on my quilt.

This is a applique quilt by Lori Smith,from my heart to your hands company. Its about 16x20 and can me framed.The little blocks are 6 inches and I will just hang it on the wall,not framed.

The quilt is Second Hand Clothes by Bonnie Blue Quilts.I made the top in 2009,but didnt know if I wanted to hand quilt it or machine.......Hand quilting won out.This block is the design for the plain blocks and the others are just 1/4 inch outlining. I am enjoying quilting this.I have done about 13 blocks so far. I will be quilting on small quilts, but this is the main one for this year.

I was so surprised to see an email for Bluebird Quilts blog that I had won the drawing for a sewing set. I am very excited..............It came when I needed some major cheer in my life.

I picked this book up recently and I love it.I want to do alot of small quilts and these are great.They wont take alot of fabric or time........I really like Kathleen Tracy's designs and stories .

I would love for someone to take this project off my hands. The pineapple blocks are paper pieced.I was going to make a table runner years ago, but now my colors have changed.

I just finished this little jewel last night.It was a little kit I purchased in October of 2010.

I hand quilted it. I have not hand quilted in years, but I am going hand quilt everything from now on.

I made my husband this quilt for his birthday.His birthday was Dec 22nd,hence the tree in the picture.

The pattern is out of Amer Patchwork and Quilting aug 2010.Alot of the fabric is from early 90's.

I am still alive and well.I have not posted in a long time.
Lets see......I have been busy taking care of everyday things,house ,dogs,husband.
I have been knitting more than anything.I want to start back cross stitching too.Dont seem to any interest in quilting anymore.
I am going on vacation on June 11th.We are heading for Red River in New Mexico,and where ever else the road takes us.I have'nt been on a trip with just my husband in years,so I am excited.

My mother had a massive stroke somtime early Tuesday morning.We found her in her bed yesterday morning.I stay in her room 24/7. She does not know us at all,cant talk,but listens when we talk to her......She is going to go to Hospice care as soon as possible.All we can do is keep her comfortable.........
I hate to tell people this sad news,but I need to get it out.......I will probably not be around much to respond to this message,but I appreciate any good thought you have.................In friendship,Amy

Mother had a small stroke

My mom is 92 and lives next door to us.She has Dementia and I take care of her daily......She has had a small stroke on Tuesday,Dr confirmed it yesterday............I've lost another piece of her.Please pray for strength for me and my family to continue on down this road........Thanks,Amy

Still sick and on antibiotics............They take my appetite and mess it up and I dont sleep well. I have a infected Lymph node behind right ear,about the size of a marble and it hurts like HECK! Not in the mood to do much...............Amy

Feel like crud today, got a sore throat at stitch group last night.Went to bed and sneezed all night off & on.When I got up at 6:30 my nose starting running and has not stopped,and I still sneeze.My husband went to DR yesterday and he has a upper respiratory infection........Real fun place around here.............Amy

This tin I found for .50 cents and its in great shape........ I will use it for all my cross stitching stuff.........Love the flowers

Saw this old book and thought it would be a nice read.......it was 1.00...........Love the title..........Hard to believe that spending a dollar and 50 cents can make you happy............

This is my favorite sewing basket....It came from an antique store and I got it for a song....almost.........Its in mint condition, so I was thrilled to find it.

This 1st quilt was amazing.....The quilt is 21x21.......Its foundation paper pieced and the the sashing is all done in Silk Ribbon ....The blocks are 1/20th of the original size.

I thought this one was striking colors and I luv Applique.....
This is wonderful to me,very traditional feel.

This was made in 1955, my birth year.It was marked $760.I wish I could have brought it home.......Oh well,atleast I have a pic.

This is my best friend Pat and I. I am on the right in green coat. We were in Bonnie Blue Quilts booth and I ask them to take our pic...........We can look back at this and say "Remember your first quilt show"......

This was one of my favorite quilts.Notice the Black TOILE border.It was gorgeous.

Guess whose quilt this is?? Pat fell in love with this,and I said "Oh, I know the designer of this beauty".......I felt so proud,lol!

This one was amazing.....The rug is crocheted,the tote bag has real fabric rolls in it,as does the basket.The log cabin quilt is an actual quilt added to the larger one........It was neat.

This quilt was for a 50th anniversary,notice the dates top and bottom.Very impressive and special.

I adore this one, so feminine and delicate........Its a favorite.

I am home from the Dallas Quilt show......These are a few things I bought......The little sheep quilt is a kit with EVERYTHING in it.,even the batting.......It was only $19.The sheep are wool and so cute.........

I had allergy trouble on wed,and then about 3:30 Friday I ended up with Laryngitis.......I simply got to where I cound not talk,no voice unless I strained..........I am not feeling well, so I will share more tomorrow...........Thanks for coming by,Amy

This is my DMC collection I've had for years..............Something tells me I can do some more Embroidery projects....LOL! I also cross stitch, but dont make a dent in the floss........

I found this little gem yesterday and for only $4.........Its was my feel better present to myself.....I have been sick with allergies and crud for about 4 days.....so I was deserving.....
I have a bunch of Reproduction fabric left over from Second Hand Clothes quilt top, so I will do the little triagle quilt on the cover........Miss Quilt Hollow showed me hers,so I have to have one too!

I have been blessed with a new friend.....MARY at Quilt Hollow sent me this little gift.....just cause....She sent me a sweet little hanging heart....so cute. She also sent a little Redwork Kit.The card is a pattern with Mr&MRs snowpeople.......Needles in a matchbook,thread and a neat thread holder.I have not done any redwork, but now I can try it. Go look at Redworkplus.com.They have some neat things.

This is the needle match book closed up and the thread tin,called "The String Thing"loaded up with floss.There is a magnet on the lid to hold my scissors........

This all came about when she posted on her blog that she was beggin for fabric........I found and bought a 1/2 yd of it.When I emailed her she had already recieved it from someone else that day in the mail...... No problem,I am glad to have it.........Next thing I know I get this little gift "just cause".......

This is all the blocks and setting triangles for the Second Hand Clothes quilt.They are stacked in rows and ready to go......I will sew them Friday......I got them ready on my break today.
I have spent most of the day cleaning and taking care of a sick hubby.He has a upper resp infection and a mean cough.Gotta go pick up grandaughter at school.
I go to dinner and stitch group tonight, so no sewing time.

Second Hand Clothes................

This is the pattern I am making.This is my background fabric...All my blocks are different.I am not doing the large size,mine will be 7 blocks wide and 9 blocks down.

They are not sewn together yet.I spent Sat & Sun with a girlfriend sewing.....We are diong the same quilt.

This is what it will look like.My setting triangles are a dark green, but look black in photo.I hope to get it all put together in a couple days.

My allergies are crazy and I have a sore throat,hope it does not slow me down.........

Well, section 1 is done......The rick rack is secti0n 2.This piece of linen is 7x54,and you fold it up on itself to make the pockets......Clear as mud right? Anyway........I am making some progress.

This is a piece of cake I indulged in at stitch group recently.Can you see the top icing is 1 inch thick............The cup has hot fudge in it............I shared this with 2 girlfriends and we were afraid we would never sleep again,lol!...........
